The fair is held in February(Ambiente) and July (Tendence) every year. It's one of the most influential fair in the international household and consumer goods. The exhibition center is divided into 9 halls, including one hall specially for Chinese products, which draws a lot of attention from global buyers. I've been to the fair for 6 times, it impressed me a lot. 60% of the visitors are from Europe. From my point of view, the fair is always leading the development of international household goods, it's an excellent channel and opportunity for Chinese enterprise to enter European and also the global market. The Spring fair is especially effective. Chinese exhibitors show great passion for this fair, some may rent two or three booths at a time, causing the lack of booth. At first Chinese exhibitors are mostly trading company, but from 2000 more and more manufacturers attend it. To satisfy the increasing requirement the organizer opened shows of daily-used goods for China and other Asian countries in the nearby district Offenbach (ASIANLIVING). This fair will be hold along with the Frankfurt Ambiente. Shuttle buses are available between these two exhibition. There are a lot of Chinese exhibitors attending the ASIALIVING each year. However plagiaries were found in the fair. So the organizer raised the issue for protecting of designs and intellectual right, which were supported by exhibitors. Any exhibitor who are been reported of any plagiary will be seriously punished, blacklisted and deprived further right for attending the fair.
Another thing I want to mention is the Canton Fair just follows the heel. So many buyers may come to Guangzhou and take the opportunity to visit some factories nearby.

This show (Saloni and Euroluce) takes place in Milan International Exhibition in the middle of April every year. As top exhibition in home furnishing and design, it is kind of the "Olympic Games" in the global furniture industry. Here shows the newest designs, creations, technology and trends. There are up to 3,000 exhibitors coming from all over the world. Show area is about 250,000 square meters. Visitors are designers, professional news press, trading companies and importers, also with some tour groups. Booths available for Chinese is not much, so anyone want to attend it have to make reservations six months beforehand. And those who really go there are strong and competitive companies. And the cost is the highest among trade shows in this industry.
Products displayed on the show are classic furniture, modern furniture, European style furniture, outdoor furniture, hospitality furniture, kitchen furniture, indoor/outdoor lightings, modern / traditional lightings, garden lightings etc.
The fair (HABITAT) is one of renowned fairs second to IMM Cologne, held in September every year. As we all know, Spain is a strong power in furniture industry, and is imposing some influence on global market. However it haven't opened up to Chinese exhibitor until 2007. The reason for this change may lies in:1, China has become the new manufacturing base in furniture industry; 2, the new requirements arise in global market, 3, Spain, and also other European countries are looking for new source for lighting product.
