I believe this spring marked the first of this yearly event. The overview is that there were around 200 suppliers, and the whole trade show could be walked in about 2 hours. So, plan on 1 day, since its pretty small...
I think for finding furniture in Vietnam, there is a show in October, which I add information on later. That show I was told has around twice as many vendors.
Also, note, it was 85% furniture manufacturers. Not a lot of Home Decor suppliers. I was looking for the lacquer ware and found a few suppliers, but I actually found more Vietnamese factories at the HK Gift Show, then at the VIFA.
Note to travelers: There are a lot of great hotels to stay at in District 1, near the river, and near the Sheraton Saigon hotel. You can get nice rooms with WiFi for around $70 per night. Also, this area is really interesting, with great food, shopping, and lots of foreigners are staying here, and it feels very safe. |
