Every October over 60,000 members of the global buying community for the gift, premium, houseware and toy industries arrive in Hong Kong for the trade fair that is now established as the largest and most comprehensive all Asian sourcing show of its kind.

The show is the essential trade fair for these major industries and promotes not only Hong Kong and mainland Chinese manufacturers but brings in exhibiting companies from as far afield as Australia, Europe and Asia, thirty-four countries in all, presenting a truly global product selection of over 3,300 companies. MEGA SHOW PART 1 is the vital industry platform where buyers and sellers can annually meet and be seen, view what's new, create new business relationships, share industry information, and experience the direct contact and personal communication that only a major industry trade fair can offer its community.

MEGA SHOW PART 1 is now established as The Centre of Asian Sourcing, Every October. With the right timing complementing the other Southern China fairs, a downtown, convenient location for visitors to Hong Kong, and a well edited concentration of Asian merchandise, with the broadest and most diverse mix of gifts, premiums, houseware and toys, which attracts a loyal and quality attendance, year after year.

This coming October , a new look to MEGA SHOW PART 2 will be unveiled at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Tuesday 28th – Thursday 30th October, 2008. In addition to the familiar gift and premiums products that again will be on display, Asian suppliers of essential and everyday items for the household, as well as home décor products, with a selection of inspiring new ideas and innovations for home interiors will be joining the show to answer the need expressed from buyers. Companies from China, France, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, The Philippines, Poland, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, U.S.A., Vietnam and more….

OK, I went again to this fair because I got emails from some suppliers I know make nice products. This time I had better results, and while it is somewhat better organized, it is still all different types of products scattered.

So, what I did like about this show is that you can source the Taiwanese and Hong Kong companies who have factories in China. These companies often do not attend the Canton Fair. I actually had some pretty good results this year, but I would not spend more than a day at this show, and am still heading to Canton Fair...

Main products at the mega show = Housewares, Home Decor, on Floor 3 and 4. (no furniture), they also have toys and promotional items.

Another nice thing is they have more and more suppliers from around Asia (Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand)

From 2008----
Hmm… I expected to see a lot of Decor a this show, since it is listed as a “Decor, Gift, and Accessories” show. But, I was surprised by mess it was in. Hall 7 was just a mess of housewares, paper cups, hand bags, and other random items all lumped together. Hall 5 was a little more organized, with a small Vietnam section (about 10 suppliers) and on this floor, there was more decorative items, but still mixed together housewares, and other odds and ends. Really, this show could use some work, and be better organized. If your at the lighting show, its fine to visit this show, but if your seriously looking for home décor, you are not going to find too much here. A few companies are around showing OK stuff, but don’t make this the only show you go to.
