Twice a year in September and January, for more than 10 years, the MAISON&OBJET trade show has been bringing together players from the home-fashion sector to offer them a major focal point to express themselves and to network. The show's determined focus on creativity brings together homeware and furniture brands in one place, positioning it as a key exhibition in Europe. This year was no exception with both established and emerging brands showcasing the very best of lifestyle design for the spring/summer 10 season. This season’s overall theme is entitled ‘Cohabitation:’ a theme that was evident throughout the show and its accompanying exhibits.
‘We must learn how to live with one another, to reconcile the different generations and families with different configurations, cultures from elsewhere, the city and nature in an increasingly urban world. An overloaded world is looking for alternative ways of being together. After the days of “every man for himself,” the new decade is bringing together people’s energies in a spirit of sharing and renewed ties. The house is becoming a space of new urbanity that reconciles differences. The styles are looking to a major change toward very human well-being.’

Tablewear items feature in a range of intricate and often edgy prints such as Denise O’Sullivan’s gold leaf skull print plates.
Watercolour tones and naive illustrations are teamed with a hand worked aesthetic on simple ceramic pieces.
